Tom Kitchin teased after sharing Scotland squad snap as one fan jokes ‘you owe us two centre forwards

Top chef Tom Kitchin shared a photo on Twitter of Scotland stars enjoying lunch at one of his Edinburgh restaurants and some fans have teased him after Steve Clarke revealed some players had fallen ill.

Key players are now doubtful for the massive Nations League Group B1 crunch tie against Ukraine in Krakow. Boss Clarke revealed strike pair Lyndon Dykes and Che Adams are two of the players who have fallen ill despite both are smiling in Kitchin’s social media post.

The 45-year-old, who became Scotland's youngest Michelin star winner when he was just 29, took to his social media account on Sunday to post the photo of a handful of players in his Scran and Scallie restaurant. He said: “Delighted to welcome some Scotland players for a quick lunch at @scranandscallie before heading out to Poland for Tuesday’s game. Thanks for visiting guys - great seeing you all. Best of luck Tuesday!”

There is no suggestion their visit to the gastropub is linked but after Clarke’s news that Dykes and Adams have fallen ill, the chef has been teased over his post. One fan wrote: “What did Che and Lyndon have?” Another added: “That why Che Adams and Dykes are ‘ill’ for the game.” One laughed: “You owe us two centre forwards.”
