Tom Jones lost two stone by cutting this one thing out of his diet to fit back in suits

Tom Jones has shed two stone by making one change to his diet. After noticing that fitting into his suits wasn't as easy as it used to be the Welsh singer decided to make a change.

It was reported that the Sex Bomb crooner now follows a strict diet which saw him lose a staggering amount of weight, and quickly, has kept him looking trim for all these years.

The Delilah singer, 82, lost over two stone in just five months by following the paleo - or caveman- diet, reports The Express.

This diet sees people eat exclusively lean meats, fish, fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. A Paleo diet is rich in vegetables, fruits and nuts and the main difference between this diet and other healthy diets is the absence of whole grains, legumes and dairy products.

According to the Mayo Clinic, the paleo diet promotes rapid weight loss and has a range of other health benefits that including improved glucose tolerance, lower blood pressure and better appetite management.

When speaking to a radio show, Tom explained that the diet focused on 'natural' foods, saying that he would eat foods that "get back to what we used to eat when we were hunters and gatherers. Eat anything that's natural – meat, fish, veg".

He also cut down his alcohol intake, with Wales Online reporting that Tom previously confessed that at one stage he had been drinking a bottle of wine with dinner.

As well as cutting out certain food groups and reducing his alcohol intake, Sir Tom has also took on an exercise regime with a personal trainer.

Alongside the reduction of alcohol and following the caveman diet, Sir Tom also explained how he often exercises with a personal trainer.

Speaking on a Radio 2 show, the singer said of his weight loss: "I was putting too much weight on. I didn't think I was going to and I left the working out for a bit, thought I'd keep a check on it.

"But with the Christmas puddings and cakes, before I knew it I was 230lb (16.4 stone) which was 30lb more than I should be. I couldn't get into my suits. That's when I thought: 'This has got to stop'."

With the help of a dietician, Sir Tom overhauled his lifestyle. He said: "Health is very important, you’ve got to take care of yourself."

Referring to his drinking habits, he said: "The dietician asked: 'how much do you drink?' I told him I like a bottle of red wine with my dinner. 'To yourself?' he said. "What I didn't tell him was I'd started off with a martini, had a cognac and a bottle of champagne too."
