If you didn't already hear the news, the king of Wales himself, Sir Tom Jones, is making the journey back to his 'green green grass of home' this summer with a headline gig at Cardiff Castle on Friday, July 21 - his first headline slot in the Welsh capital in two decades.
It follows on from the stellar sold-out gigs that saw Tom Jones supporting another legendary Welsh act at the Principality Stadium last year, the Stereophonics - read our review of it here. And the excitement around this news is palpable, with many commenting on social media posts on the event organisers DEPOT Live and Tom Jones' pages voicing their desire at getting to see the 82-year-old musical legend live on stage.

Back in 2020, Tom was due to perform a series of UK gigs as he hit his 80th birthday, and teased a special show here in Wales, but the pandemic put paid to that and it's only now he's managed to fit a date in.
The Delilah hitmaker has been churning out chart toppers for well over 50 years and has sold over 100 millions records - many of which fans can expect to hear at this much-anticipated show, from It’s Not Unusual and Kiss to What’s New Pussycat and I’ll Never Fall In Love Again. His show joins a whole host of amazing acts like Blondie, Rag'n'Bone Man and The Lumineers - to name a few - that will be performing within the historic castle walls, read more on those big gigs, here.
