Zawe Ashton has given birth to her first child with fiancé Tom Hiddleston, according to a new report.
It was revealed in June that the couple were expecting their first child after Ashton debuted her baby bump at the premiere of her film, Mr. Malcom’s List.
The actor, 38, also confirmed her pregnancy in an interview with Vogue, weeks after their engagement came to light.
And now a source has claimed that Hiddleston, 41, and the Fresh Meat star were “thrilled” to have become parents after welcoming the pitter-patter of tiny feet.
The insider told Us: “Tom and Zawe are loving being new parents and are filled with joy.
“They have been having the struggles of new parents and aren’t sleeping much but are thrilled.”
The pair were first romantically linked in 2019, after working together on the West End play Betrayal.
However, they have kept their romance largely out of the spotlight and made their red carpet debut at the Tony Awards in September 2021.
In March, Ashton set tongues wagging when she posed for photos with Hiddleston sporting a diamond ring on her engagement finger.
Although neither acknowledged their engagement at the time, the Thor actor hinted at the speculation months later and told the LA Times that he was “very happy”.
It was previously claimed that they were living together in Atlanta, Georgia, while the Crimson Peak star was filming Disney Plus series Loki.
Speaking about their romance, a source previously told the Sun: “Tom and Zawe have stayed quiet about their relationship but she has spent the last few weeks with him in the US.
“They are very well suited and enjoy the quieter side of life away from the glitz and glamour of the showbiz world.”
Hiddleston famously dated Taylor Swift, 32, for three months in 2016. He once revealed that the high-profile romance had made him more protective of his personal life.
“I’m protective about my internal world now in probably a different way,” the Avengers star told the New York Times.
“If you go through life without connecting to people, how much could you call that a life? Because you have to fight for love. You can’t live in fear of what people might say.”
The Standard has contacted Zawe Ashton and Tom Hiddleston’s representatives for a comment.
