Tom Hanks ' wife Rita has distanced herself from the drama earlier this week when her actor husband swore at fans for 'knocking her over'.
American actress and singer Rita Wilson, 65, was spotted attending The Song Writers Hall of Fame and shared a show reel picturing her hanging out with famous faces including Paul Williams and Smokey Robinson.
Sharing a glimpse of the glamour backstage on Instagram she looked incredible pairing a long black dress with leather jacket and paid tribute to artists Eurythmics, Jody Gerson and William Mickey Stevenson the writer of Motown classic track Dancing In The Streets.
The singer's outing comes after scenes emerged from Wednesday night when her double Oscar winning husband was seen shouting at fans as they tried to get selfies and autographs with the famous couple.
In the video, which was taken outside a restaurant in New York, Hanks, 65, and Wilson, are swamped by fans before a man is pushed into Wilson from behind causing her to stumble.
A visibly furious Hanks then rushes forwards and orders the fans to “back the f*** off”, berating them for “knocking over my wife”.
But at least one fan can be heard apologising for the near slip up and can be heard calling after them, saying: “Sorry about that, Tom.”
Meanwhile Hanks is preparing for his latest release with eagerly anticipated biopic Elvis, in which he stars as the singer’s manager Colonel Tom Parker. Hanks and Wilson had reportedly been at a screening of the film earlier in the evening.
Hanks and Wilson, who share sons Chet, 31, and Truman, 25, have one of the most romantic Hollywood love stories. After having first met on the set of ABC’s sitcom Bosom Buddies in 1981, the couple became instant friends before they got together.
The couple, who have been married for 34 years, emerged as the first public figures to test positive for Covid and praised medical care they received having since made a full recovery.
Hanks health however continues to be a topic of speculation after a video of him shaking onstage at the Australian premiere of the new release.
The film legend — who went public with his Type 2 diabetes diagnosis in 2013 — moved the mike back and forth between his shaking hands.
The actors apparent 'yo-yoing weight' once putting on 30 pounds for his role in League of Their Own, could have played a part in the disease’s development, CBS News’ Dr. Holly Phillips said at the time.
