Tom Hanks has received his first Oscar nomination in 19 years.
The Hollywood actor, 63, made it to the Academy Awards shortlist today for the first time since 2001.
He's landed a nod for the 2020 ceremony in the best supporting actor category for his for his part in A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.
The star was last nominated for Best Actor in 2001 for his role as Chuck Noland in Cast Away.
He was previously nominated for four Academy Awards, two of which he won.
Hanks took home the Best Actor award for the 1995 classic Forrest Gump, as well as his role in 1994 film Philadelphia as Andrew Beckett.
The 92nd Oscars take place on February 9 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, much earlier than previous years when the ceremony is usually held at the end of the month.
For the second year in a row, the glitzy show will be without a host.
The 2019 ceremony was thrown into chaos when Kevin Hart stepped down from the job at the last minute after a series of homophobic tweets from his accounts reemerged.
The show went on with a number of "mini-hosts" replacing him. Stars including Tina Fey and Amy Poehler took charge of segments of the show instead of having one presenter leading all the way through.
Jimmy Kimmel was the last host to preside over the Oscars with his stint in 2018.
And although everyone knows how great of an actor Tom Hanks is, it will still be tough for him to snag the Academy Award as he shares the nominations with other Hollywood A-Listers.
Other nominees include Brad Pitt for Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, Al Pacino for The Irishman. Joe Pesci for The Irishman, and Anthony Hopkins for The Two Popes.
