Tom Grennan: My rock’n’roll night in with Liam Gallagher

The UK music scene might have its new “wild child” in rising star Tom Grennan.

The musician, 23, told A-List how he was taken under Liam Gallagher’s wing on a drink-fuelled night in Budapest.

Grennan has had a successful year, selling out his upcoming Brixton Academy gig after releasing his debut album in July.

Another highlight was meeting the former Oasis star when they were both on the bill for Sziget festival in August. Bedford-born Grennan said: “He wanted to meet me, so he asked for me to come to his dressing room. I had a Guinness with him, and then I said I wanted to go back to my hotel.

“He was like, ‘What you on about mate? F***ing you’re with me!’ So we jumped into his blacked-out Mercedes and went back to his hotel and were in his penthouse.

“We got stuck in and were just chatting about Oasis, my record … we had a lot of fun. I would love to write with him — so maybe that is something we can do in the future.”

Grennan was speaking after performing at a party to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Belstaff’s Trialmaster jacket at the clothing brand’s Mayfair store, supported by Ciroc vodka.
