Tom Davies will leave Everton's trip to Australia after suffering a knee injury in training.
The midfielder sustained the issue during a session in Sydney ahead of the club's match with Celtic - the first of two games for the Blues in Sydney Super Cup, which they won 4-2 on penalties after it finished 0-0 after 90 minutes at the ACCOR Stadium.
Davies will undergo a scan in England as club medics await further details on the extent of the problem.

The injury is a significant blow for the 24-year-old, who was expected to get a chance to stake a claim for further first-team involvement during the matches against Celtic and Western Sydney Wanderers. Davies has featured for Frank Lampard this season, replacing the injured Abdoulaye Doucoure in the second Premier League game of the campaign at Aston Villa and then starting in the draws against Nottingham Forest, Leeds United and Liverpool - hitting the post in the first half of the Merseyside derby.
Minutes since then have been hard to come by as a midfield of Alex Iwobi, Amadou Onana and Idrissa Gueye has cemented itself within Lampard's first-choice XI. Davies last started in the Carabao Cup loss at Bournemouth earlier this month.
With all three of the recent first-choice midfield missing the Sydney Super Cup due to international action, Davies - who is out of contract at the end of this season - would likely have earned the chance to impress Down Under. Against Celtic, this led to an opportunity for Under-21s starlet Isaac Price, who started alongside Doucoure in the middle.
