Tom Curry will miss England’s final game of the Six Nations against France on Saturday, but fellow flanker Jack Willis has been recalled to the squad for the first time in over a year.
Curry injured his hamstring during Saturday’s defeat to Ireland and he has now been left out of the 34-man squad who will train this week ahead of the showdown in Paris at the weekend.
England will now have to find a replacement for Curry and Sam Underhill will be the frontrunner.
Alfie Barbeary, who is still waiting to make his debut, is an outsider and he has been joined in the squad by his Wasps team-mate Jack Willis.
Willis suffered a serious knee injury playing for England against Italy in last year’s Six Nations, but he has battled back to full fitness.
The flanker made his first start in over a year at the back end of February, playing for Wasps against Bristol, and he has now returned to the England setup.
