Tom Brady told to snub New England Patriots as "writing on the wall" for Las Vegas Raiders

Tom Brady has been tipped to quit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next summer and snub a return to the New England Patriots in order to join the Las Vegas Raiders.

Superstar quarterback Brady will become a free agent in 2023 for just the second time in his career when his contract at Tampa Bay expires. The 45-year-old has been tipped to seal an emotional return to Gillette Stadium and reunite with head coach Bill Belichick.

However, ESPN's Pat McAfee believes Brady will instead choose a completely different route and sign with the Raiders, reuniting instead with former offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.

Brady and McDaniels worked together at the Patriots before going their separate ways. McDaniels is now head coach at the Raiders, but things haven't been going too well for him this season.

The Raiders were 5-8 going into Sunday night's game against the Patriots, and McAfee believes they could make changes next summer, including getting rid of Derek Carr.

Speaking on his show, he said: “Tom Brady’s about to be a free agent. Tom Brady’s going to Las Vegas next year—is that what everybody’s just assuming? The dead cap for Derek Carr if he gets cut by the Las Vegas Raiders is $5million.

He continued: "Tom Brady back with Josh McDaniels, in Las Vegas, with DaVante Adams, Hunter Renfrow, with the defence they went in on, is that the most obvious thing of all time?... I think the writing is on the wall.”

The Patriots are still believed to be in play for Brady, however. The quarterback has a close relationship with team owner Robert Kraft, having flown to New York for the billionaire's wedding earlier in the season just days before a game.

Mac Jones has failed to live up to the expectations placed upon him last year after he made the Pro Bowl, and it has been theorised that eh could become Brady's backup and learn from the seven-time Super Bowl champion once he hangs up his cleats.
