Former NFL star Antonio Brown has released more messages from his private conversations with Tom Brady.
Brown has not played up in the NFL since he was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on January 6 2022. He was released by the team after he removed his equipment while he threw his gloves and shirt into the stands as the 34-year-old stormed off the field in the middle of the Bucs’ match against the New York Jets.
The receiver’s career in the league is likely over following a string of personal issues and dramas, although he has attempted to ignite a music career. Brown has been involved in several other run-ins with the law in recent years too, so teams are likely not interested in signing him despite his immense talent.
For some reason, the former Pittsburgh Steelers superstar has targeted Brady for some time, primarily mocking the seven-time Super Bowl champion for the breakdown of his relationship and 13-year marriage with ex wife Gisele Bundchen. Brady finalised his divorce from the model recently after the couple started dating back in December 2006 and were married in February 2009.
It appears Brown will continue pushing Brady until he gets a reaction despite the Bucs quarterback’s best efforts to reach out and help the receiver who he clearly considers a friend. On Friday, the receiver posted private messages between the pair and it is difficult to understand what Brown was aiming to do as all it does is showcase the caring nature of Brady.
“You have a chip on your shoulder. And the mental/emotional ultimately defines the best of us,” Brady’s message reads. “I face it a lot. Why are people so critical and hating? Why is it fair? I believe it’s because I/we handle it although it’s hard. That resilience will be tested every day. Don’t give in. You can handle it. And when you aren’t feeling great, call me!
“We can do anything. And will always rise above our doubters and naysayers because we always have. It’s not right but we show a lot of people light and inspiration if we deal with whatever comes GRACEFULLY. They will all remember your grace under pressure and how you deal on the field is how you do it off field. With incredible precision and planning and discipline. And I’m going to help you in any way I can.”
It’s not the first time Brown has posted private messages between the pair. The behaviour is particularly curious given both incidents paint Brady as a caring friend while it is still not clear why Brown is frustrated with the quarterback.
He attempted to expose the three-time MVP by posting a text conversation between the two from 2021 in which Brady referred to Brown as an ‘immature man that is selfish, self serving, irrational and irresponsible’. Brown has also posted images in several attempts to goad Brady, including a recent edited image of Brady in a chokehold following the Bucs’ loss to the San Francisco 49ers as well as several images of Bundchen.
Ultimately, Brown’s attempts to troll Brady is the least of the quarterback’s worries given the Buccaneers own a 6-8 record - and somehow sit atop the hapless NFC South. Brady and co. will need to win each of their last three matches to secure a spot in the postseason.
Brady’s Buccaneers are next in action against the 4-10 Arizona Cardinals on Christmas Day.
