The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Boston Red Sox on Friday night 28-5 in what was a hearty but ultimately lopsided game of lacrosse, and — what’s that? It was baseball?
Oh. Oh, no. Oh, dear God.
It was a record-setting performance for the Blue Jays, whose 28 runs set a franchise record for the most in a game, beating out a 24-run outing against the Baltimore Orioles in 1978. It was also the most runs Boston has ever allowed, beating out the previous record of 27 that dated back nearly 100 years to 1923.
But it didn’t have to be this way. You see, the Red Sox had a standing offer from the GOAT to tag in and lead the comeback effort.

So, maybe not exactly a 28-3 scenario, but our official ruling is “close enough.”
Brady’s career has been filled with highlights, but the moment he will be perhaps most remembered for was his come-from-behind Super Bowl win against the Atlanta Falcons in 2017. New England overcame a 28-3 deficit to win that game, which may have cemented Brady’s legacy as the greatest quarterback in NFL history.
He may have left Boston, but that doesn’t mean he can’t rub a little salt in the wound after an embarrassing Red Sox loss at Fenway Park that hasn’t been rivaled since the interwar period.
