Tom Brady’s infamous NFL combine shirt fetches insane price at auction

The shirt Tom Brady wore during his 40-yard dash at the 2000 NFL Scouting Combine was auctioned off and sold on Tuesday night at Sotheby’s.

The pre-sale estimate of the shirt ranged from $100,000-$200,000, but the actual selling price was $144,000 for a longstanding piece of football memorabilia.

Brady was famously selected with the 199th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL draft. From there, he went on to have one of the most decorated careers of all time.

Brady would go on to win Super Bowls with both the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He won six in New England before his departure from the team in 2020 to Tampa Bay, where he won another championship in his first year with the team.

Brady ran a 5.28 40-yard dash time while wearing the shirt, which was the slowest by any quarterback at the combine. Who knew his shirt would be the most expensive over 24 years later?
