Tom Brady reacts to Bill Belichick agreeing to coach at North Carolina

There has never been a greater quarterback and coach pairing than Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. So it was a feel-good moment seeing the legendary quarterback congratulating Belichick on his new coaching gig via social media.

On Wednesday, it was reported by Inside Carolina that the University of North Carolina was finalizing a deal for Belichick to be the school’s next head coach.

The Athletic later confirmed the agreed upon deal to be for five years and worth $50 million. That means Belichick is trading in his television suits for a Carolina blue hoodie and an opportunity to coach on the sidelines of a prestigious college university.

“Congrats Coach The Tar Heel way is about to become a thing,” Brady posted in his Instagram stories, per CLNS’ Mike Kadlick.

For years, “The Patriot Way” served as the slogan for one of the greatest franchises in sports history. Belichick worked tirelessly to build it from the ground up.

Now, at 72 years old, he’ll be looking to take North Carolina from a mediocre 6-6 team to a perennial contender.
