Josh Allen has built a reputation as one of the toughest quarterbacks in the NFL. His gunslinger mentality, along with his inclination to fight for yardage while running the ball, has garnered him plenty of praise. However, it’s also warranted some criticism. During a conversation with Tom Brady, the seven-time Super Bowl champion had some pointed advice for the Bills star in that regard.
Brady started off by telling Allen he needs to be extremely selective about when he decides to run because a potential injury isn’t worth the extra yardage. Then Brady gave Allen some specific advice.
“And not that he shouldn’t run, but when he does run, f---ing slide and make sure no one hits you, because I don’t ever want to see him ever get hurt,” Brady said on the Let’s Go! podcast.

Allen admitted Brady was right, but he added that a quarterback can just as easily get hurt in the pocket. The 27–year-old Allen stands at 6’5” and weighs 237 pounds, so it’s understandable why he’s so confident as a ball carrier. Nevertheless, Brady knows a thing or two about longevity, having played 23 NFL seasons with the Patriots and Buccaneers.
