Tom Brady is not coming to Jets, team won’t pursue 7-time champ

Tom Brady is not coming to the New York Jets. It sounded crazy that it was even considered a possibility but his name was being speculated by some in the media as a potential candidate to step in after the injury to Aaron Rodgers Monday night.

We can put those thoughts to rest. Dianna Russini of The Athletic is reporting the Jets are not going to pursue the seven-time Super Bowl champion.

The Jets have made it clear that Zach Wilson is their starting quarterback but that hasn’t stopped people from thinking about other potential options in case things start to go south quickly.

Brady, 46, has also made it clear he is done playing football. He retired for a second time earlier this year and really hammered home the point that he is truly done. He was even honored by the Patriots at halftime of their Week 1 game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday and will be inducted into the Patriots’ Hall of Fame next June.

The Jets were checking over every possible option they could think of, including reaching out to free-agent quarterbacks before ultimately deciding that Zach Wilson is their man going forward to replace the injured Aaron Rodgers.

It seemed like a pipe dream anyway, and now is truly is a dream. Tom Brady will not be a New York Jet.
