Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen's 'ironclad' prenup and staggering net worths revealed

Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen have separated - and their divorce could have got very messy due to the staggering wealth they share. The NFL legend and supermodel, who have two kids together, started dating in December 2006 and were wed in February 2009, but decided to part ways after 13 years of marriage.

Lawyers for both parties reportedly worked with a mediator to iron out the details, including how to deal with custody of their children and their impressive property empire. Surprisingly, it's been reported that this "wasn't a complicated" process due to their "ironclad prenup".

According to Page Six, the pair hashed out an inflexible prenuptial agreement in 2009 before they tied the knot.

This has now come into play and will protect their individual wealth and simplify the division of their assets, including their $26 million property portfolio.

Brady has an estimated net worth of up to $333 million, but he wasn't the main breadwinner in the family.

Bundchen, who is considered to be the world's highest paid model, is reported to have a whopping $400 million fortune.

"There was an ironclad prenup set down before they married in 2009," a source said.

"They both have their own separate business entities, so the separation of their wealth wasn't that complicated in the end. The only other major factor was dividing up their massive property portfolio."

It's believed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers player will keep their $17 million mansion which is currently under construction.

Despite the end of their marriage, Brady and Bundchen are still pressing ahead with plans for the eco-mansion in Florida's 'billionaire bunker'.

The eco-home is being built in the Indian Creek Island area, which is described as 'the world's most exclusive municipality', reports the Mail.

The former couple purchased the plot of land in late 2020, with the exclusive island only being accessible via a single, guarded bridge.

They obviously won't be moving in together, with Brady expected to move into the property, living beside A-list neighbours such as Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner.

Before the divorce, Bundchen quietly bought a modest $1.25 million Miami Beach home in February and has reportedly purchased a large property also in the Miami area.

Sources claim she will keep their vacation home on the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica, and they also have Bahamas home, a property at the Yellowstone Club in Montana and a New York apartment.

While certain details could not be published, it is expected they will share custody of their two children, Benjamin, 12, and Vivian, nine.

The pair's divorce was announced at the end of last month - but the pair had reportedly been living apart for months.

In a statement, Brady wrote: "In recent days, my wife and I finalised our divorce from one another after 13 years of marriage. We arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together.

"We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the centre of our world in every way.

"We will continue to work together as parents to always ensure they receive the love and attention they deserve. We arrived at this decision to end our marriage after much consideration.

"Doing so is, of course, painful and difficult, like it is for many people who go through the same thing every day around the world.

"However we wish only the best for each other as we pursue whatever new chapters in our lives that are yet to be written. And we kindly ask for privacy and respect as we navigate what is to come in the days and weeks ahead. Thank you."

Bundchen also confirmed the news by releasing a statement of her own.

She said: "With much gratitude for our time together, Tom and I have amicably finalised our divorce. My priority has always been and will continue to be our children whom I love with all my heart. We will continue co-parenting to give them the love, care and attention they greatly deserve.

"The decision to end a marriage is never easy but we have grown apart and while it is, of course, difficult to go through something like this, I feel blessed for the time we had together and only wish the best for Tom always.

"I kindly ask that our privacy be respected during this sensitive time. Thank you. Gisele."

Earlier this week, Brady explained that the split was "amicable" and that his priorities were now his children and his NFL career.

"I think there's a lot of professionals in life that go through things that they deal with at work and they deal with at home," Brady said on his "Let's Go!" podcast..

"And obviously the good news is that it's a very amicable situation and I'm really focused on two things -- taking care of my family and certainly my children, and secondly, doing the best job I can to win football games.

"So that's what professionals do. You focus at work when it's time to work, and then when you come home you focus on the priorities that are at home. And all you can do is the best you can do, and that's what I'll just continue to do as long as I'm working, as long as I'm being a dad."
