Toddler steals corner flag to cause hilarious delay to Cork City game

A toddler stealing the corner flag caused a hilarious delay to the All-Island Cup match between Cork City and DLR Waves on Saturday.

The game was in the 44th minute when the child decided he wanted to get his hands on the corner flag at Fermoy Football Club in Cork.

After picking the flag out of the ground, the brazen toddler then went on a walkabout with it until it was eventually retrieved.

The rebellious act caused a short but hilarious delay to the match as the players had to wait for the corner flag to be returned to its rightful place.

After the child received a caution, the match went on and Cork City ran out 2-1 winners thanks to goals from Chloe Atkinson & Kiera Sena.

Cork City are in Group D of the All-Ireland Cup alongside DLR Waves, Crusaders and Treaty United, with the top teams in each of the four groups progressing to the semi-finals.
