A young boy has been left 'seriously injured' after being struck by a van outside of a care home. Police have confirmed that the two-year-old is still in hospital after the crash.
The incident occurred earlier this week in Wales, with a black Volkswagen Transporter being involved in the collision. Wales Online reports that the crash near a Merthyr Tydfil care home was reported to police shortly before 10.50am on January 25.
South Wales Police say the boy remains hospitalised with serious injuries and his family are being supported by specially trained officers. Following the event, officials are appealing with anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage from the vicinity at the time to get in touch.
A spokesperson for the force said: "We are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the vicinity at the time of the collision or can provide information in relation to the movements of the Volkswagen Transporter and the two-year-old child."
Anyone with information, should call police on 101, quoting reference number 2300025591.
