SEATTLE — Authorities are investigating after a toddler was shot and taken to a fire station in suburban Tukwila by a family member.
Officers were responding to reports of a woman screaming on the phone in Tukwila’s Allentown neighborhood at around 9:30 a.m. Friday, the Tukwila Police Department said online, when a 3-year-old child with a gunshot wound was brought to Fire Station 53.
Officers saw a vehicle flee from the station when they arrived.
A family member had brought the boy in from a residence in the 12000 block of 46th Avenue South where police believe he was shot. The family member remained at the station and accompanied the toddler when he was taken to Harborview Medical Center, police said.
The boy was in critical condition as of Saturday morning, according to spokesperson Susan Gregg.
