Toddler dies in hospital after Halls Gap car crash

A two year old girl has died in hospital after a car hit a tree near Halls Gap in western Victoria on Thursday morning.

Emergency services found the girl and a female driver injured after being called to Grampians Road just before 9am.

The girl was flown to the Royal Children's Hospital in a critical condition and passed away on Friday

The 22-year-old driver was also flown to Royal Melbourne Hospital with serious injuries.

The Major Collision Investigation Unit is continuing an investigation into the crash and will prepare a report for the coroner.
