Todd Cantwell was conspicuous by his absence as Norwich City lost in the FA Cup at the weekend amid swirling transfer links to Rangers.
The Norwich City midfielder, who is out of contract in the summer, has been touted for a move to Ibrox in the January window. Michael Beale revealed last week that his new side were looking at 'one or two' targets and addressed the links to the 24-year-old following his team's 2-0 win over Dundee United.
Cantwell, however, has been missing in action for the Canaries since the tail end of last year and boss David Wagner did not choose the attacking midfielder as his side fell to an FA Cup exit at the hands of Blackburn Rovers. Yet the Canaries gaffer was cryptic in his response when asked about the in-demand star, while Beale lifted the lid on his knowledge of the Englishman.

He said: "Todd didn't make it [the squad] today." Beale said when asked about Cantwell and Everton star Tom Davies, who has also been linked with Rangers: "No names, but I think they are both good players.
"Todd was an excellent player when he was young and playing against my Liverpool Under-23s. I thought he would go on and have a fantastic career. He had that at the start and he is maybe just looking for a move to re-ignite it, but I think he is a fantastic player at a good age.
"And Tom Davies, he used to kick my Liverpool Under-23s team all around the place. There's a bit of John Lundstram about him. I'm not confirming anything with those two. But there's a lot of players we are speaking to at the moment."
