Todd Cantwell 'favours' Rangers transfer as Norwich star makes exit stance clear after Ibrox talks

Norwich City midfielder Todd Cantwell reportedly "favours" a move to Rangers as he assesses his options for a move away from Carrow Road.

The 24-year-old has been told he isn’t part of David Wagner’s plans at the Canaries having struggled for form in the England Championship with Norwich and on loan at Bournemouth in the last 12 months, and has been heavily linked with a move to Ibrox to kickstart his career in the Scottish Premiership. Michael Beale has expressed his admiration for Cantwell and ahead of facing Aberdeen in the Viaplay Cup admitted reports were "not far off the track" with new faces expected at Ibrox within the next week.

Sky Sports now claim that Cantwell has set his sights on a move to Rangers over other options that are on the table, with just six months left on his current contract. The report notes that The Light Blues have yet to make an official bid for the player, but have held positive talks with the England U21 cap.

English Championship sides have reportedly expressed an interest in the Norwich academy graduate this month. The report also notes that Beale is considering other options to bolster his midfielder while talks with Cantwell continue.
