Todd Cantwell 'annoys' Barry Ferguson as Rangers hero miffed by 'hunger' claim

Rangers legend Barry Ferguson has been left "annoyed" by a comment made by Todd Cantwell which he believes is ill-fitting of Ibrox standards.

The former Norwich City man claimed "the hunger in the dressing room is going to be real" next season when Michael Beale's major revamp takes shape. That verdict was brought to the attention of the club icon and he was left unimpressed. The 45-year-old believes the desire to succeed should be within no matter the circumstances.

And he could barely hide his displeasure as Ferguson explained what he believes it takes to thrive at Ibrox. Speaking on Go Radio, he said: "It should be real just now, it shouldn't need to wait to next season. The hunger should be there, simple as that, I can't explain it any better. When I see things like that, it annoys me, if I'm being honest."

Cantwell previously caught flak for insisting Celtic "didn't win" the 3-2 defeat suffered by Rangers, believing it was the Ibrox side's own errors which resulted in the loss. Parkhead icon Chris Sutton, plus others, were happy to challenge the Englishman on his beliefs.
