Former Chelsea defender Glen Johnson has urged co-owner Todd Boehly to make a key decision over a potential return for Jose Mourinho as head coach. The two-time ex-Blues boss has been linked with a switch back to west London as pressure mounts over current manager Graham Potter .
The head coach has struggled for form as of late, with the side sitting 10th in the Premier League and in danger of their season fading away. However, it appears as though Potter will be given some more time to turn things around in hopes of seeing the new regime's project through.
"I'm the manager of Chelsea and I've been asked for four months about the pressure, which is a two-way thing," The former Brighton man said ahead of the clash with Tottenham. "Four months ago, was I under pressure? I don't know.

"But now when the results are what they are, you accept it. It's fascinating to see the process play out – and I've sat here for four months about pressure, time, speaking to the owners – that is part of life at Chelsea."
The owners are reaching a critical moment of their early tenure as they decide whether to stick or twist with the current project. With links to a return for Mourinho, Johnson has urged Todd Boehly to make a decision over the Portuguese coach or Potter, claiming the former would make them title competitors in a few years.
He told OLBG: "If he replaced Potter, Jose Mourinho would walk through the door and get all the players' attention and they would be close to winning the league within three years. But Mourinho would not be sticking around in five years time, so it all depends on what the Chelsea owner's project is.
"If they want success instantly, then Mourinho is their man, but if they want to compete for the next 10 years, then Graham Potter is your man."
With a clear plan for the future in their signings and philosophy so far, it appears as though that long-term approach will be the way forward. But with poor results, it remains to be seen how that will impact their decision making.
