Todd Boehly told why Chelsea should replace Marina Granovskaia with Luis Campos

Todd Boehly has already been told by the perfect person why Luis Campos has the right credentials to become Chelsea's new Sporting director amid Marina Granovskaia's replacement search.

The Blues have completed their first £250million transfer window under Todd Boehly's guidance. They have just undergone a new managerial search process with Graham Potter, the chosen one for this new long-term project and vision, with Thomas Tuchel's fallout leading to the chop after the most recent Dinamo Zagreb loss. football.london understands that it wasn't just the results that led to the wielding of the axe for the German but the deteriorating relationship between the likes of Boehly, Behdad Eghbali and Jose Feliciano with the Champions League winning manager, which started to come to heads on the US pre-season tour.

Chelsea supporters have been forced to move on from Tuchel rather quickly to this new beginning. And despite the exciting nature that comes with Potter and the brand of football he brings alongside the proven track record of getting with and developing players, off-the-field matters must improve first to provide stability needed post-Roman Abramovich era.

Since Abramovich was forced out of the club by the UK Government for his supposed links to Vladimir Putin, which he vehemently denies, a number of key figures on the football operations side have left. Granovskaia was joined by the likes of Bruce Buck, Guy Lawerence, Petr Cech and most recently, head of international scouting Scott MacLachlan in heading for the Stamford Bridge exit doors.

This has resulted in Boehly needing to do much work to plan a new structure that can support Potter. The first priority now the transfer window is out of the way is to appoint a new Sporting director.

Amid links to all of Michael Edwards, Paul Mitchell and Andrea Berta, a new name has entered the fray in the form of advisor Luis Campos, as per The Times, who has only been at PSG for a few months following the shake-up which saw Mauricio Pochettino and Leonardo forced out.

Campos is a man with a big reputation in the game with his Kylian Mbappe connections, and his 'real desire' to take a club to the top and keep them at the top is something Pochettino's successor has praised.

"This is the best idea you've had in your career" [laughs]. No, that's not true. I told him: unbelievable, I'm up for it," Christophe Galtier said earlier this season in his response to being asked by Campos to manage the Parisians, via Get French Football News (GFFN).

"There wasn't a second of hesitation. I did make him repeat himself to be sure he was talking about PSG. Especially since, at the start, he was just talking about a big project. It was before the final day of the season, a decisive match to help Nice finish fifth at best, that I saw that Luís Campos was going to PSG. At that point, I told myself, "so that's the project".

He added on his relationship with Campos: "I heard, when I was at Saint-Étienne, that Luís had one eye on me and another on Leo Jardim for the Monaco project. When I made the decision to leave Saint-Étienne after eight years, I watched his arrival at Lille very attentively. I even remember having reached out to Luís to meet him and to show him my real desire to work with him. Would I be in Paris today if Luís wasn't here? I don't think so. We've gotten to know each other, to work together in… [mimes a rollercoaster] – like a couple, actually. Luís and I complement each other, and when one of us steps into the other's area of expertise, it's done with a lot of respect."
