Todd Boehly told to cash in on N'Golo Kante as Chelsea dealt transfer verdict amid contract saga

Chelsea have been instructed to cash in on N'Golo Kante, with the midfielder set to leave the club at the end of the season. The 31-year-old sees his contract at Stamford Bridge expire in the summer, and with the France international yet to pen an extension, he faces an increasingly uncertain future.

Kante will be free to begin pre-contract talks with clubs outside of the Premier League in January in order to secure a move upon the end of his Blues deal in June. The west Londoners can extend his stay at Chelsea at any time, subject to Frenchman agreeing.

Should the Blues look to sanction Kante's exit, the club could either recuperate a small fee in January and relinquish his services for the remainder of the season or let him leave on a free transfer at the end of the season. So, with a verdict yet to be reached, Todd Boehly has been encouraged to cash in on the midfielder and secure a healthy windfall.

Speaking to BoyleSports, Glen Johnson urged Chelsea to take advantage of the several clubs said to be interested in Kante's services. The former Blues defender said: "Chelsea should possibly cash in on N'Golo Kante.

"He's been linked with many clubs that might want him. They're struggling to agree on a deal with him too. If Kante wants to stay and play, then I'm sure Chelsea will want him to. But there's always a business decision when a player might want too much, or the club is giving them too little – then they should shake hands and part ways."

Paris Saint-Germain are one of the several clubs that have been heavily linked with a move for Kante in recent times. In March, it was revealed that the Frenchman ignored PSG's advances when they tried to sign him in the January transfer window, rebuffing a move away from Chelsea.

It's believed that they reportedly refused to answer calls from Mauricio Pochettino's side and has been subject to several approaches from Paris. According to French outlet Le Parisien, club chiefs tried to convince Kante to finally make a move to the France capital amid a time when Thomas Tuchel was nursing an injury crisis at Cobham.

The report adds that Kante snubbed PSG because he's happy in west London, despite the ongoing takeover saga. Though, with new management now, his stance may or may not have changed.
