Todd Boehly shown why Chelsea must complete £15m Serie A transfer mission for N'Golo Kante heir

Juventus star Adrien Rabiot has warranted Chelsea's interest as Graham Potter looks to bolster his midfield. The 27-year-old found the net twice as the Italian giants waltzed past Empoli in an emphatic 4-0 thrashing on Friday night.

He has now directly contributed towards fours goals from nine appearances for Massimiliano Allegri's side this term as he continues to court interest from a handful of top European sides. Rabiot, who sees his deal with the Old Lady expire at the end of the season, was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in the summer but a move failed to materialise.

According to French outlet L'Equipe in June, via GFFN, the France international asked to leave Juventus. The report stated that Manchester United and Newcastle joined Chelsea on the list of clubs interest in his services.

It has been reported that the Italian side have set an asking price in the region of £15million for his services. After failing to offload the midfielder in the summer, Juventus may find it hard to ask for such fee in the winter window, with his contract expiring in the summer.

Rabiot will be eligible to begin pre-contract talks with foreign clubs in January regarding a free transfer at the end of the season, should he opt against an extension in the meantime. But, with N'Golo Kante out for an estimated four months and Denis Zakaria seemingly surplus to requirements under Graham Potter, signing a midfielder in the winter looks to be on the agenda.

And, according to Gazzetta, Chelsea have reignited interest in Rabiot. After impressing against Empoli, the Blues can draw confidence from their talent identification.

Potter has answered calls for the west Londoners need to spend in January. Speaking to the press following Chelsea's win over Wolves, the 47-year-old said: "I've not thought about the transfer window.

"Thanks for reminding me of that! I've been busy with three matches in a week, but my answer is always that any club has to be, when the window is open, looking for options and how they can improve.

"But my job as head coach is to help the players that are here and help them improve. You can see from the team today that there are a lot of positives, but we are not at our maximum, but that is exciting as well because we can help the team and individuals get." better."
