Chelsea co-owner and interim sporting director Todd Boehly has made further moves to secure the squad for the future in tying down academy graduate Trevoh Chalobah to a new contract. The deal runs until 2028 with the option to extend it until 2029, making sure he is available for the long-term.
Since breaking into the team under Thomas Tuchel last season, the 23-year-old has impressed and only tasted defeat when starting for the side very recently. After extending his deal, Chalobah said: "I’m over the moon to sign this contract. It’s been an honour every time I put the shirt on.
"I want to give my all and do anything for this club. As everyone knows I’ve been here from a young age and to continue here is every kid’s dream. Whenever I get the chance, I’ll give my all for the club and look for the future ahead."

With yet another step taken towards having the ideal squad at Graham Potter's disposal, there's still plenty of work for Boehly and his new recruitment staff to undertake. While the January transfer window is a few weeks away still, another contract renewal could be on the table.
That is relating to Mason Mount, who has just over one-year remaining on his deal at the club, with reports that Liverpool are eyeing a swoop should he be available. The 23-year-old is an often understated part of the puzzle for both Chelsea and England, not always catching the headlines.
However, his work on and off the ball continues to be so crucial and could be for Graham Potter for years to come at Stamford Bridge. With other incomings may still be possible over the winter period, the need to tie down the promising prospects currently at the club remains a priority.
