Todd Boehly's hilarious reaction to disallowed Chelsea goal vs Wolves a sign of things to come

After Chelsea released a statement in the early hours of Saturday morning confirming Todd Boehly's consortium have agreed on a deal to become the new ownership group of the club. The American billionaire was in attendance, sitting in the West Stand, with the camera often panning to him.

Boehly could be seen reacting to Ruben Loftus-Cheek's disallowed goal towards the end of the first half. The midfielder thought he had put the Blues ahead after slotting home after a Thiago Silva flick-on from a corner.

However, after a lengthy check from the Video Assistant Referee, it was ruled out. The camera cut to Boehly in his seat, and the American could be seen shrugging his shoulders, almost in disbelief. Get used to that, Todd.

The Club released this statement on Saturday morning at around 1:30 am, confirming the news. "Chelsea Football Club can confirm that terms have been agreed for a new ownership group, led by Todd Boehly, Clearlake Capital, Mark Walter and Hansjoerg Wyss, to acquire the Club," the statement read.

"Of the total investment being made, £2.5bn will be applied to purchase the shares in the Club and such proceeds will be deposited into a frozen UK bank account with the intention to donate 100% to charitable causes, as confirmed by Roman Abramovich. UK Government approval will be required for the proceeds to be transferred from the frozen UK bank account.

"In addition, the proposed new owners will commit £1.75bn in further investment for the benefit of the Club. This includes investments in Stamford Bridge, the Academy, the Women's Team and Kingsmeadow and continued funding for the Chelsea Foundation.

"The sale is expected to complete in late May, subject to all necessary regulatory approvals. More details will be provided at that time."

On the pitch, Chelsea was left frustrated in the first half after seeing two goals ruled out for a foul and offside. Timo Werner came close right after half-time, but his low strike was saved well by Jose Sa.

They did, however, break the deadlock around 10 minutes into the second half after a VAR check deemed Romain Saiss fouled Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian forward stepped up from 12 yards and calmly slotted the ball past Sa for his first Premier League goal of the calendar year. A much-needed confidence booster for Lukaku.

And then, like magic, Lukaku was on the scoresheet once again. The 28-year-old finished beautifully with his right foot to double Chelsea's advantage and it looked like that would hand them all three points. Francisco Trincao did really well for Wolves with a fantastic strike, before Conor Coady equalised deep into stoppage time, ensuring the points would be shared.
