Todd Boehly makes multi-million-pound Chelsea decision in bid to reverse Graham Potter crisis

Todd Boehly is reportedly continuing to stamp his mark at Chelsea by improving the facilities at the Cobham training ground.

The US billionaire has made a number of changes at the club since completing a £4.25bn takeover in May 2022. Nearly £600million has been spent on reinforcements across the two previous transfer windows while a change in management earlier in the season saw Thomas Tuchel leave the club.

Graham Potter arrived from Brighton in September after a successful period at the Amex Stadium, but the Englishman has struggled to adapt to life at Stamford Bridge. The Blues are currently 10th in the Premier League table and face a difficult task of finishing in the top four.

football.london understands that the Chelsea boss retains the support of the ownership in west London, despite calls for him to be sacked following last weekend's 1-0 defeat to bottom-of-the-table Southampton. However, Boehly is said to be keen on improving the facilities at the club's training ground in a bid to improve the cohesion within Potter's squad.

According to The Sun, Boehly and Potter are overseeing a multi-million-pound upgrade of the Cobham training ground that will see an added area for players to 'chillout' in. It's said that, in addition to a comfy lounge, a gym, pool and rehab centre will be paid for.

The report claims that specialist interior designers have been recruited to conduct the process, with motivational phrases printed on the walls. The aim of the luxury move is to help the Blues players feel more relaxed when at the Surrey training centre, with possible video games made available.

It is claimed that work on the project had begun during the World Cup, with Boehly also said to be spending a 'considerable sum' on improving the facilities for Emma Hayes' women's side.
