Todd Boehly can solve key Chelsea problem and beat Man United to complete perfect free transfer

Chelsea must fix their problems in attack ahead of next season. The Blues have a shocking goal-scoring record this season after having only netted 29 times in 30 Premier League fixtures this term.

Kai Havertz has struggled for form, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's arrival last summer has failed to be successful for Chelsea. football.london understands Christopher Nkunku is set to join the Blues this summer after signing a pre-contract agreement ahead of next season.

The Frenchman has a strong scoring record in the Bundesliga for RB Leipzig, but he will need support from team-mates in attack if Chelsea are to compete for the top four and for trophies. Raheem Sterling has failed to have a strong impact at Stamford Bridge after completing a move from Manchester City last summer.

The likes of Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke and Joao Felix are still adapting following their arrivals in January - while the changes in the dugout have not helped players understand and become familiar with tactics being implemented in training. A number of attackers could leave the club this summer, including Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech and Aubameyang - meaning more reinforcements are expected to be signed.

Chelsea's lack of a recognised striker has hampered their performances this term, but Todd Boehly could solve this issue in the summer transfer window. Borussia Mochengladbach have now confirmed that Marcus Thuram is set to leave the German outfit at the end of the season when his contract expires.

The Blues were heavily linked with a move for the Frenchman in the January transfer window, but opted to sign Mudyrk, Madueke and Felix on loan instead. Thuram has scored 16 goals in 28 appearances across all competitions this season and would be a clever signing from Chelsea as they look to add more goals to the squad.

A new manager may have their own players in mind for the club to try and sign this summer, meaning a lot hinges on who the club appoints. Julian Nagelsmann has managed in the Bundesliga for a number of years and would be very aware of Thuram's ability and output - along with Nkunku joining the club too.

Manchester United and Arsenal have also been linked with a move for the 25-year-old striker this summer, but the Blues could move ahead of their rivals by looking to agree a contract with him before the end of the season. Thuram's contract situation means he is able to negotiate a deal with foreign clubs before the summer transfer window, giving Chelsea the perfect reason to try and secure his signature sooner rather than later.
