Mauricio Pochettino looks likely to become the next Chelsea manager. The former Tottenham boss has always had his admirers at Stamford Bridge and the Blues finally look set to be the beneficiaries of the manager merry-go-round with Spurs that has taken place over the last few years.
Pochettino to Chelsea is not official or confirmed yet but the Argentine doing the opposite of what Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte have done appears firmly on the table. Conte and Mourinho both enjoyed success in west London before moving across the capital to take charge at Tottenham.
Now, arguably Tottenham's most successful manager of the last decade is the favourite to permanently succeed Graham Potter. When co-controlling owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali first brought in Potter, Pochettino was also on their shortlist with both said to be left impressed by him in an interview.

In recent weeks, further positive talks have been held, while both Luis Enrique and Julian Nagelsmann are no longer in the running. Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou and Burnely head coach Vincent Kompany are another two names closely linked with the job.
There are obvious concerns within the fanbase given Pochettino's links to Tottenham, but it is hard to ignore he made them a fearsome team. The deadly attacking foursome of Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Son Heung-min would often cause mountains of problems for opposition teams with the midfield pivot of Moussa Dembele and Victor Wanyama allowing the full-backs to bomb on.
Pochettino, as was seen with Alli, is fantastic at developing young players and with the majority of Chelsea's recent signings under the age of 22, he could be the perfect man to instil. In the transfer market, some of Pochettino's purchases at White Hart Lane, such as Roberto Soldado, Vincent Janssen and Tanguy Ndombele, left a lot to be desired, but with a wealth of recruitment experts above him at the Blues, despite his stance on director's of football, smart business would likely occur.
Despite spending over £500m since taking over the club, Boehly and co. look set to back whoever comes in this summer "significantly", ahead of the 2023/24 season, according to the Guardian. If that is to be Pochettino, he likely already has one guarantee from his possible new employers in comparison to his time at Spurs.
Publicly, Pochettino was urging the club to begin the steps to completing a massive rebuild, however in the summer of 2018 Daniel Levy opted not to hear his demands. That transfer window saw Spurs make no new additions to an ageing squad that were soon brutally exposed 14 months later when Pochettino was sacked.
Despite signing nearly 20 new players over the last two trading periods, for Chelsea to still be highly active this summer shows the intent from the owners. It also likely proves to Pochettino he will never endure a summer like the one he experienced five years ago if he chooses to take the reigns at Chelsea.
