Chelsea were held to a frustrating 2-2 draw by Wolves on Saturday afternoon as Bruno Lage's men scored twice in the second half to take a point from west London. Romelu Lukaku had bagged a brace before Trincao and Conor Coady added to the frustration at Stamford Bridge as prospective new owner Todd Boehly watched on from the stands.
It is a result that has left many Chelsea fans looking nervously over their shoulders as Tottenham and Arsenal both continue to chase down a place in next season's Champions League. Boehly himself did not hide his emotions showing visible despair and frustration throughout the game.
It was perhaps inevitable that the off-field issues at Chelsea would eventually start to affect what happens on the pitch. Roman Abramovich remains under sanction by the UK government as he looks to sell and it appears that the process is finally coming to an end.

Minority owner of the LA Dodgers Boehly has been the key man behind the successful bid, with Chelsea confirming that the consortium had been selected in a statement on Friday evening. While there will be plenty of relief that the situation is close to being resolved, concerns may remain about what sort of regime he will bring to west London.
But minds may be put at ease by comments made by Boehly when talking about his ambitions for the Dodgers back in 2018. Talking about how he sees the MLB side progressing, he said: "We're trying to get to the point where they [the opposition] don't even wanna play and we just win before we even have to play. So getting the team around it, and then you obviously have to get the scouts to start to believe and you have to get everyone to start to use data."
They are comments that mirror the ones made by Tuchel himself back in 2021 after arriving at Chelsea. In a post-match interview, the German said: "The title is far away, we have to be realistic. Honestly, when you sign for Chelsea or, like me, as a manager, you sign for the expectation of challenging for titles. That is absolutely clear.
"I’m used to creating the special energy and atmosphere you need to create for the possibility to win every three days in a league like this. I believe we can do this on a day daily basis. We will build a team nobody wants to play against.”
