Today’s ‘Wordle’ Word Of The Day Answer #260: Sunday, March 6th

This photo illustration shows a person playing online word game "Wordle" on a mobile phone in Washington, DC on January 11, 2022. - Five letters, six attempts, and only one word per day: the formula for "Wordle" is simple, but for the past few weeks this online game has been stirring up social networks in the United States, and has since been adapted for a French-speaking audience. Welcome back to another go at Wordle, where the words keep coming as long as we haven’t gotten through all 2,000 in the answer list. Yesterday’s first weekend word was a bit of a harder one, so we’ll see what Sunday holds instead.

Wordle continues to be a fun little distraction, though recently I’ve heard about Heardle, a new version of the game where you have to listen to a bit of a song and guess it in as few tries as possible. Sound fun? You can give it a try here.

An Introduction to Wordle

  • For those new to the game, read this Wordle primer before you start playing and learn about how this fad got started.
  • Then, if you want some advanced tactics to get those low guess answers, you can read the Wordle Tips and Tricks guide here.

Today’s Wordle #260 Answer

Before we dive in here, I will have a bit of a spoiler warning in case you clicked on this post by accident and somehow scrolled all the way down to the answer portion complete unaware of what you were about to witness. Ready? Okay.

The answer is...

Cloth Wordle

Cloth!

Not exactly a word that needs very much defining, though whether or not you landed there may be a matter of some amount of luck and skill. For me, I got lucky because I hit the initial C with my always-guess CRANE. After that, I did CHILD because it had a vowel I hadn’t eliminated. Wrong vowel, but that did get me an H and an L. At that point, CLOTH was the first word I thought of that started with a C that included the other two letters, plus an O I hadn’t eliminated yet, and here we are, a three-and-out win. Not too bad.

This was definitely one of the easier words I’ve done in a little bit here, certainly more so than yesterday’s BRINE, which you may not be familiar with if you’re not a boat/ocean/marine person. But cloth? I think we’re all pretty knowledgeable about that one, and you don’t have to be a seamstress to get it.

Hope you did well today, but if not, there’s always tomorrow’s word!
