Toby Keith Dominates Digital Song Sales Chart Posthumously With Hits

Toby Keith in a hat

Country music fans across America recently mourned the passing of beloved country musician Toby Keith. In the wake of his death, a surge in streaming and album purchases propelled Keith back onto the Billboard charts in a significant way.

Keith's presence on this week's Digital Song Sales chart is particularly noteworthy, with the artist claiming nine out of the 25 available spots. This resurgence marks his strongest performance on the chart to date, underscoring his enduring popularity.

While Tracy Chapman's 'Fast Car' clinched the top spot on the chart, Keith's 'Don't Let The Old Man In' secured an impressive second-place ranking, selling nearly 27,000 copies in the tracking period. This achievement represents a new high for the song and underscores Keith's enduring appeal.

Notably, four of Keith's hits reached new peaks on the Digital Song Sales chart this week, including 'Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue,' 'As Good As I Once Was,' and 'American Soldier.' Additionally, four of Keith's tracks made their debut on the chart, such as 'Should've Been a Cowboy,' 'How Do You Like Me Now?!' and 'Beer for My Horses' featuring Willie Nelson.

The surge in sales of Keith's music also propelled his compilation album, '35 Biggest Hits,' to a new peak on the Billboard 200 chart, landing at number one. This posthumous achievement marks Keith's fifth chart-topping album in the U.S., solidifying his legacy as a country music icon.
