Toby Aromolaran breaks silence on Chloe Burrows split and takes swipe at Love Islander

Toby Aromolaran has broken his silence on reports he's split from Chloe Burrows and appeared to take a swipe at her, too.

Love Island star Toby, 23, and 27-year-old Chloe were reported to have ended their romance just over a year after finding love in the ITV2 dating show's villa.

Now, Toby has broken his silence as he posted a comment on Instagram in response to the reports of his split from Chloe – after she claimed Toby proposed to her just a few weeks ago.

In a recent Q&A, Chloe said: "He actually asked me and I said no." But, the comment from Toby denied Chloe's claims as it read: "I didn’t propose lol".

Toby also appeared to take aim in a TikTok video posted shortly after the break-up rumours began to swirl.

In the clip, Toby is seen wearing a purple hoodie as he looks at the camera and gives a small smile. A caption placed above Toby in the clip then reads: "I don't need a BeReal."

It then changes to: "I need to BeSingle", as Toby looks away from the lens.

The couple, who met on the show, are said to have "simply grown apart".

"Chloe and Toby put everything into their relationship – but it just hasn't worked out between them," a source said.

"There's been no wrongdoing, they have simply grown apart, and over time realised it's better for them both to split.

"Naturally, Chloe has found the breakup difficult but being able to spend time abroad with Millie has given her the space she needed to start moving on," the insider added added to MailOnline.

The Mirror contacted Toby's representatives for further comment.

Chloe has remained silent about split rumours on social media but tweeted about jetting off with Love Island pal Millie Court, who split from Liam Reardon earlier this year.

Chloe tweeted: "You know I f***ed off for a week to Morocco with Millie… yo all I had to say was I want to go and she did everything. Millie Court deserves the f***ing world."

She went on: "Took a break and f***ed off to Morocco and want to award Millie Court the award for being the best f***ing friend I've ever had."

Chloe and Toby moved in together weeks after leaving the villa in Majorca.

Fans of the couple grew concerned over their romance last year, but those were soon put to bed as Chloe gushed over her man.

She told the Mirror in October last year: "We just keep getting better. To be honest, I’m more obsessed with him now that I ever was."

Meanwhile, semi-professional footballer Toby said: "Yeah, she never fails to make me cry from laughter, and I think that’s the secret to any relationship. We just never get bored of one another and it’s always an adventure with Chloe."

Chloe and Toby's reported split means Faye Winter and Teddy Soares are the only couple who are still together from the 2021 series.

It comes as it was announced Maya Jama will be taking over as the dating show's host.

As Love Island announced the news, ITV's Director of Reality Programming & Acquisitions and Controller, ITV2, ItvBe & CITV, Paul Mortimer said: "Finding a new host to follow the wonderful Laura Whitmore was never going to be easy.

"In Maya Jama though, we have another high-profile fan of the show who’ll be a great addition to the Love Island family. Cool, charming and charismatic, I speak for us all when I say Maya will also bring a unique presenting style to the show, as did Laura and, of course, the very much missed Caroline Flack. We’re very pleased to have her on board."
