BT Sport is set to be rebranded to TNT Sports later this month and more details have emerged ahead of the launch.
The merger between BT Sport and Discovery was first announced in May 2022. Warner Bros. Discovery owns Eurosport and has already been using the TNT Sports name across the US and Latin America.
TNT Sports is set to launch in the UK on July 18, with the broadcaster keeping all of BT Sport’s existing sports portfolio, which includes Premier League, UEFA Champions League, Premiership Rugby, live boxing and UFC. The new channels will still be available on all pay-TV providers (Virgin, Sky, BT), as well as on the Discovery+ app alongside Eurosport.

BT and Warner Bros. Discovery are yet to confirm their pricing for TNT Sports but it reportedly will not change for current pay-TV BT Sport subscribers, upon its launch. Discovery+ currently has a free tier and two premium offers for UK customers - Entertainment (£3.99/month) and Entertainment + Sports (£6.99/month) - but prices will likely increase with the introduction of TNT Sports.
The Discovery+ app will host all of TNT Sports’ live channels and full match replays, as well as effectively replacing the BT Sport Monthly Pass streaming offer, but the BT Sport app will continue to be accessible for a few months before being phased out. Meanwhile, TNT Sports are reportedly planning to launch their own app later this year.
The Discovery+ streaming service is available to watch on both Android and Apple/IOS devices, as well as LG and Samsung smart TVs, Amazon Fire TVs, Chromecast, PlayStation and Xbox, among others.
