Oscar De La Hoya's comeback fight card will feature an MMA dream match taking place in the boxing ring when Anderson Silva faces Tito Ortiz.
The pair will go head-to-head at the Staples Centre in LA in a fight that fans clamored for during their respective primes, and will still attract a large amount of interest.
Ortiz was known for his impressive grappling, but was an accomplished striker in his own right, while Silva is one of the most revered strikers in MMA history.
The Brazilian just beat Julio Cesar Chavez jr in a stunning upset earlier this year, and was in talks to fight YouTube star Logan Paul, but those discussions appear to have broken down.
"I am very excited to have the opportunity, along with my team, to get in the ring against Tito Ortiz on September 11 with Triller Fight Club, who are really shaking things up in the combat sports world," Silva told ESPN.
And Ortiz is looking forward to honouring the victims of the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks by competing on the same day.
"I am excited to be taking on a new challenge and compete against another great fighter in Anderson Silva," Ortiz told ESPN.
"As a patriot, fighting on September 11 means a lot to me."
In an Instagram post, he added: "I’ve been work extensively on my boxing over the past 10 years.
"I'm excited to showcase my skills against one of the greatest MMA fighters Anderson Silva in a boxing match.
"I always put on a show, I’m definitely looking for blood!"
The pair will join the returning former heavyweight champion David Haye, who faces Joe Fournier, on the undercard of the massive Los Angeles fight night.
And there will also be some high-level boxing in the form of Irishman Jono Carroll, who retired Scott Quigg last year in Manchester, facing Andy Vences for the international super featherweight title.
Triller Fight Club is a new promotion that burst onto the scene in April with a massive selling pay-per-view fight between Jake Paul and Ben Askren that reportedly landed in the top 10 PPVs ever.
They were forced to cancel their next big fight night in June when unified world lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez had to pull out of his mandatory title defence against George Kambosos Jr due to a positive covid test.
The promotion paid around $6million to stage the fight in purse bids, but they have as yet failed to put it together with an August date falling by the wayside.
Backed by social media giant Triller, they are also running monthly shows at the Hulu Theatre in New York's Madison Square Garden which feature 'Verzuz' rap battles and lower level fights.
Triller made their debut in the fight game promoting an exhibition bout between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr last year in Los Angeles that also landed on the top-selling PPV list.
