Titans WR DeAndre Hopkins expected to play vs. Browns

The Tennessee Titans’ fanbase got some good news ahead of the team’s showdown against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.

Despite practicing noticeably less as the week progressed, wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is reportedly expected to play in Week 3, per Paul Kuharsky.

Hopkins has been dealing with an ankle injury that he suffered on the final offensive play of the Titans’ Week 1 loss to the New Orleans Saints.

The star wideout practiced fully on Wednesday before being limited on Thursday and a non-participant on Friday, leading to a questionable tag.

But Hopkins revealed that was part of “the plan” head coach Mike Vrabel had for him, with the ultimate goal of getting fully healthy.

Hopkins playing off a week of not practicing a lot isn’t much of a surprise, considering he didn’t practice all week prior to the Titans’ Week 2 game. The fact that he got some practice in this week was a sign that things are actually getting better with his ankle.

Last weekend, the Clemson product didn’t play a lot early on before seeing his snaps increase as the game went on. He reeled in four catches for 40 yards, including a huge 14-yard catch to set Tennessee up for the game-winning field goal in overtime.

Hopkins’ mere presence will open things up for everybody else. Let’s hope Sunday is the day he finally has the type of monster performance we’ve seen from him throughout his career.
