All week long we’ve been wondering how the Tennessee Titans would approach their preseason opener against the Chicago Bears on Saturday, especially when it comes to who would start at quarterback.
While head coach Mike Vrabel did reveal that at least some starters would play, he would not say which ones. He was also mum on who would start at quarterback, although we can take an educated guess how that will work.
Assuming Ryan Tannehill doesn’t play (he hasn’t played in a preseason game since 2019), it’s safe to assume Willis will get the start after being named the No. 2 quarterback going into camp.
However, it remains to be seen exactly how the Titans will attack that particular situation.

Again, if I had to guess I would think Willis will get the first half with some of the ones and then the twos, with Levis filling in for the second half with the threes.
It’s also possible the Titans alternate the two quarterbacks each quarter in order to get them some time with both the twos and threes, although that wouldn’t be ideal for either quarterback’s rhythm by any stretch, thus I believe it’s unlikely.
While the Titans are unlikely to deploy their starting quarterback, Ryan Tannehill, the Bears will be playing theirs, as Justin Fields and some starters will take the field for Chicago on Saturday.
