The Tennessee Titans still had one more 2023 draft pick to sign with rookies set to report to training camp on Saturday, and it appears they are set to get that done with quarterback Will Levis.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Titans and their second-round pick will finalize things on the day rookies report, meaning the Titans will now have all of their six draft picks under contract.
It remains unclear what the holdup was, but a rookie not signing until this late in the process is not exactly rare. Perhaps we’ll get more information on that front as the day progresses, but what’s important is the deal will be done.
Levis has some work to do over the next month-plus if he wants to grab the backup job behind Ryan Tannehill after fellow signal-caller, Malik Willis, outperformed him during the offseason program.
Great news for the #Titans: Will Levis is signing his rookie contract today and will report to training camp, per sources.

But that means very little, as the serious evaluating really begins when the pads come at training camp, and during the preseason when both Levis and Willis will actually see game action to show their stuff.
It certainly wouldn’t be the end of the world even if Levis doesn’t secure the No. 2 job, as it’s a role Willis should win given his edge in experience. Also, Tannehill is this team’s starter as long as he’s healthy and the Titans are in contention.
The biggest thing is Levis continuing to develop with an eye on 2024, although it goes without saying surpassing Willis would be a good sign.
