Titans’ Will Levis plans on ‘mastering the playbook’ during break before camp

We’ve gotten our first looks at Tennessee Titans 2023 second-round pick and quarterback Will Levis during the offseason program, and by all accounts he’s looked very much like the rookie he is.

Levis has had his ups and downs, and has been outperformed by fellow signal-caller Malik Willis, which was to be expected considering Levis doesn’t have a year under his belt in the NFL like the Liberty product.

Following the final practice of organized team activities last week, Levis said he plans on “mastering the playbook” during the break between the final practice of OTAs and training camp in late July.

“Just mastering the playbook,” Levis said. “These past few weeks, it’s  just been mostly new stuff everyday. Some days we’re revisiting old things, but now I can finally have a good period of just mastering the playbook and getting to a point where when we get back here, I can not just know it myself but teach others what’s going on.”

As things stand now, Levis is behind Willis in the battle for the backup job behind Ryan Tannehill, but a lot can change once the pads come on at training camp and during the preseason.

Levis having a better feel for the playbook will no doubt help his cause.
