Titans’ Tyjae Spears considered ‘week-to-week’ with his hamstring injury

The Tennessee Titans fell 20-17 to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday and now start preparing for their Week 7 battle with the Buffalo Bills.

During the game, the Titans lost RB Tyjae Spears to a hamstring injury, leaving RB Tony Pollard to carry the load. Prior to the injury, Spears was off to a good start with six carries for 27 yards, but now it appears they could be without him for some time.

During his press availability, head coach Brian Callahan announced that Spears would be considered “week-to-week” with his hamstring injury, which puts his availability this week in jeopardy against the Bills.

If Spears can’t go, third-year RB Julius Chestnut will likely slide into the backup role behind Pollard. Against the Colts, Chestnut recorded one carry for two yards. With Spears ailing, he may be forced to take on a much bigger role for the offense.

With the Titans’ passing game struggling, Pollard will again be looked upon to carry the load moving forward. To this point, he has looked up to the task, but that hasn’t been enough to lead to victories.

He will again try to spark the sputtering offense on Sunday on the road in Orchard Park when the Titans face off with the Bills.
