Titans trade WR A.J. Brown to Eagles for pair of picks

The Tennessee Titans have pulled off a shocking trade, sending wide receiver A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles for a pair of 2022 NFL draft picks.

The news comes from ESPN’s Adam Schefter. According to ESPN’s Dianna Russini, the Titans will receive pick Nos. 18 (first round) and 101 (third round).

This is a shocking trade to say the least. From all accounts, it appeared things were at least going in the right direction for the Titans to extend Brown, who is entering the final year of his rookie deal in 2022.

However, it appears that was not the case behind the scenes after all and now the Titans have sent one of their best players to Philly in what is a head-scratching trade on Tennessee’s part to say the least.

Shortly after the trade was announced, the Eagles agreed on a four-year, $100 million deal with Brown. We can assume that wasn’t a price the Titans were willing to pay, leading to the trade.

One thing’s for certain: this trade won’t go over well with the Titans fans, and we can’t say we blame them. The overwhelming majority of fans were ready to pay Brown to keep him in Nashville for the long haul.

After trading Brown, the Titans took Arkansas wide receiver Treylon Burks with the No. 18 overall pick they acquired from Philly. Burks has a very similar skill set to Brown.
