Titans snag Jaguars pass rusher Arden Key with 3-year deal

The Tennessee Titans reached an agreement with Jacksonville Jaguars pass rusher Arden Key on a three-year, $21 million deal with another $3 million in potential incentives, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

Key, 26, joined the Jaguars on a one-year deal last offseason after previous stints with the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders and San Francisco 49ers. In his first season in Jacksonville, Key recorded 4.5 sacks and was second on the team in pressures with 51 in the regular season and playoffs.

In addition to his skills as a pass rusher, Key also brought a lot of energy to the Jaguars defense.

Earlier this week, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported the Jaguars were “pushing to keep” Key before he hit the open market.

The Jaguars also reportedly made an effort to keep offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor, but lost the right tackle to the Kansas City Chiefs on a four-year, $80 million deal.

As of Tuesday night, Jacksonville has not reached an agreement with another team’s impending free agent. The team did reach deals to bring back Andrew Wingard, JaMycal Hasty, and C.J. Beathard, and it used the franchise tag to retain Evan Engram.
