UPDATE: The Tennessee Titans have completed their interview with Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callaham, the team announced on Friday.
The Tennessee Titans have requested to interview nine different candidates for their head coaching vacancy thus far, but Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan is the first to have one scheduled.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Thursday, the Titans will bring Callahan in for an interview on Friday.
Callahan is one of two coaches Tennessee has an interview scheduled with, along with Las Vegas Raiders interim head coach Antonio Pierce, who is slated to be brought in this weekend, per reports on Friday.
Callahan has been the Bengals’ offensive coordinator since 2019, and in that time Cincinnati has sported one of the better offenses in the NFL and has seen Joe Burrow become an elite signal-caller.
In 2023, the Bengals saw an impressive showing from rookie signal-caller Jake Browning after Burrow went down with a season-ending injury and Cincinnati nearly made the playoffs as a result.
Just talked with someone in the league about Callahan and wanted to add perspective on what seems to be a good possible candidate for the #Titans… https://t.co/Iohfp3Woi5 pic.twitter.com/7DB6utxvTs

Callahan, who is the son of former NFL head coach Bill Callahan, does not call the plays for the Bengals but is heavily involved in the game-planning.
Prior to his stint with the Bengals, Callahan served as a quarterbacks coach for the Raiders and Detroit Lions.
While not my first choice (Ben Johnson is No. 1 and Bobby Slowik is No. 2), Callahan would definitely fit the mold of what the Titans need, which is an offensive-minded coach who also has a history of success with young quarterbacks, making him a solid option.
