Titans reportedly request to interview Panthers OC Thomas Brown for HC job

The Carolina Panthers have yet another coordinator drawing some interest from the outside.

As first reported by ESPN’s Kimberley A. Martin on Monday night, the Tennessee Titans have requested permission to speak with Panthers offensive coordinator Thomas Brown about their head-coaching vacancy. Joe Person of The Athletic and Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer both seconded the news shortly after.

Brown just wrapped up his first season as an NFL offensive coordinator, a run that included multiple play-calling stints. The 37-year-old was handed play-calling duties beginning at the Week 7 bye, had them taken away a month later and then reclaimed them upon head coach Frank Reich’s firing after Week 12.

With owner David Tepper reportedly seeking out an offensive-minded head coach to steer the ship, Brown is unlikely to return for 2024. The Panthers finished their 2-15 campaign averaging the fewest yards per game (265.3).

Defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero has also received interview requests for head-coaching opportunities—with the Atlanta Falcons and Seattle Seahawks sniffing around in Carolina.
