The Tennessee Titans have had an interesting offseason thus far when it comes to their roster building.
Prior to making several notable cuts, Tennessee had been in financial purgatory when it came to its available resources.
After moving on from several high-priced and/or disappointing veterans, the team eventually had enough money to add several quality veterans to start filling out its roster.
Unfortunately, these acquisitions didn’t exactly move the needle when it came to how the Titans are perceived nationally.
Mike Clay of ESPN recently released his 2023 unit grades, and the Titans found themselves in the bottom five with a score of 1.4 out of 4.0 (28th). Tennessee’s defense ranked 16th, but the offense landed at No. 30.
Here is the complete first run of 2023 NFL Unit Grades!

To the surprise of no one, Clay has the offensive line and wide receiver groups as the lowest-graded positions on the team, receiving a dreadful score of 0.1 at both spots, the worst in the league.
In fact, only running back (3.6), defensive line (2.9), and safety (3.8) have above-average grades as of right now.
Needless to say, the state of the current roster is a disappointing reality for a franchise that was the AFC’s No. 1 seed just a few years ago.
Sadly, the Titans have a long way to go if they want to put themselves back in the championship contender conversation, and they don’t have a lot of time or immediate resources to make it happen in 2023.
