Titans place Elijah Molden, Chance Campbell on IR

The Tennessee Titans made a pair of roster moves on Friday, just days before their Week 1 contest against the New York Giants at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.

The team announced it has placed cornerback Elijah Molden and linebacker Chance Campbell on injured reserve, meaning they’ll miss at least the first four games of the 2022 campaign. The team did not announce any corresponding moves.

Both players were listed on the team’s injury report this week and were ruled out on Friday.

Molden was listed with a groin injury and did not practice at all during the week. The second-year pro has been battling injury for much of the offseason.

Meanwhile, Campbell got in a limited practice on Wednesday before sitting out the next two days with a knee injury. With Campbell sidelined, the Titans only have three healthy linebackers on their roster, so expect Joe Jones to get promoted to the active roster or elevated from the practice squad on Sunday.

Thankfully, Tennessee has a solid amount of depth in their secondary to help overcome the loss of Molden, who was slated to start in the slot. Look for Roger McCreary, Caleb Farley and Ugo Amadi to chip in.

After losing Harold Landry to a torn ACL and placing two others on IR ahead of Week 1, the Titans are off to an ominous start after a season in which the team fielded an NFL record 91 players due to injury.
